Half of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s newly shuffled cabinet members are women, and he has appointed seven rookie ministers. Two-thirds of portfolios switched hands this morning in a reset that signals the government will focus on housing and affordability heading into the next election. Trudeau shook up several high-profile portfolios, moving Anita Anand from defence to the Treasury Board and Bill Blair from Emergency Preparedness to defence. Trudeau has moved Sean Fraser from immigration to take over the housing and infrastructure portfolios. Former Crown-Indigenous relations minister Marc Miller is taking on immigration.
