
The chief of the shishalh First Nation says they’ve long known the truth of missing children at the former St. Augustine’s residential school and a search for graves to was conducted to show the little ones that they hadn’t been forgotten. Chief Lorna Joe says ground-penetrating radar has identified 40 potential unmarked graves of children near the site of the school. Joe says they listened to elders and survivors at the residential school to being their search. The Nation says it’s been working with the University of Saskatchewan to find the remains of children.
